HP LaserJet P1005 driver is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10 require a 1 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and 2 GB of free disk space. Whereas, Windows XP uses a Pentium 233 MHz processor of 128 MB of RAM and 150 MB hard disk space.
The Mac-based systems have the following compatible versions; OS X v10.3.9, OS X v10.4.3, and OS X v10.5. These versions require an 8 MB of RAM and a 150 MB of free hard disk space. The printer also comes with an internal memory of 128 MB that is expandable to double its size. Paper handling specifications include the main input tray of 150 sheets capacity with a maximum weight of 20 lbs. [Installation Instructions] How to Download / Installation procedure
Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to continue and complete the installation.
Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
- Then Double-click the mounted Disk Image.
- Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.
To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
